Master 80 HF Provides Automatic Operation with Vast Range of Bar Sizes

The Master 80 HF, a new generation of IEMCA high performance barfeeder, is the latest addition to the range of work handling systems available from 1st Machine Tool Accessories. 

Developed to provide automatic operation with an exceptionally wide range of bar sizes, the new feeder accommodates stock from 15 to 80 mm diameter, as well as a wide variety of hexagonal and square section profiles. Its ground-breaking design also enables a single sized guide channel to be used throughout its capacity range, allowing machine changeovers to be completed in just 60 seconds. 

With a number of innovative design features, the new Master 80 HF is ideal for production operations involving more than one job change per day. Its extreme torsional and longitudinal rigidity is complemented by a hydrodynamic pusher, which is supported by two pairs of self-adjusting rollers to further minimise vibration. The unit’s two-part front bush accurately guides the bar between feeder and lathe and can be easily changed in less than 30 seconds. In addition, replacement of the loader’s fully enclosed guide channels can be completed without tools in under two minutes. 

Manufacturing throughput is further enhanced by the Master 80 HF’s axial shift mechanism, which allows rapid access to the machine tool for maintenance and adjustment.

Fully automatic in operation – with all working parameters and magazine adjustments controlled by simply defining the required bar diameter on the handheld control panel – the versatile new feeder incorporates remnant retrieval and management on all models. Single plane (MP type) units provide 320 mm of rack space and are offered in four variants to suit maximum bar lengths of 2.3, 3.3, 3.8 and 4.3 metres. F type feeders accommodate up to 2.5 tonnes of bundled raw material and can be supplied in an extended length version capable of handling bars up to 6.3 metres long. A multi-rack (P type) model is also available, which provides 1800 mm of rack space to cater for extended periods of unattended running and ‘lights out’ manufacturing operations.
