Control Units
Control Unit for Electropermanent Chuck
Key Features
- Operational safety – the machine cannot be started up at a low holding force
- Effective demagnetization of the chuck and the workpiece for easy removal
- Possibility to control one or more magnets at the same time (depending on selected unit type)
- Possible control of the chuck via remote controller
Description
Control units for electropermanent chucks are powered by alternating current. The chuck is consequently magnetized by the current impulse into the coil. Built-in motherboard with microprocessor controls holding force and the automatic demagnetization. With the control unit, you can control the power of the chuck to get optimal clamping conditions for your application. The unit also fully controls the demagnetization procedure - so you can effectively demagnetize the chuck and the workpiece you are using for easy removal of the workpiece from the magnetic chuck. To enhance the operator’s safety, the control unit is completed with a magnetizing current sensor, which indicates a low level of magnetization. The safety contact in the control unit prevents subsequently the machine from starting up the working cycle if the magnet is not energized or if an insufficient holding force for your working conditions is generated.Control of the holding forceA current sensor to check the magnetization currentMeets the standards of European Machinery Directive 2006/42/ ECProtection class IP66 (metal box) or IP00 (panel for direct installation into the machine)
