Chick does not recommend hard coating our jaws. The coating does not penetrate deeply enough to protect from chipping and scratching from part lines and saw lines. Our jaws are manufactured from 7075 aluminium. 7075 has the same characteristics as a mild steel (10-18), and therefore stand up to wear and tear. Chick recommends the use of Chick grippers or steel inserts for high wear, high volume production runs in conjunction with our 7075 jaws.
