Remove the slide assembly from your unit and clean as needed based on your manufacturing applications and usage.
Wipe chips and coolant from the unit with a clean rag. Apply a light coating of oil to the coverplate prior to reassembly.
Inspect the third-hand mechanism for chip build up.
If chips have accumulated between the clamping block and slide nut, remove both bolts and clean thoroughly.
If the unit is difficult to operate even after performing routine maintenance, the slide assembly should be completely disassembled and inspected.
