What does Chick recommend to prevent rust between table/pallet surfaces and foundations?

Chick recommends prepping machine tables and pallets with a light film of a general-purpose lubricant prior to installing a Foundation or baseplate. Chick further recommends prepping a Foundation in a similar manner prior to installing a Qwik-Lok base. The lubricant acts as a corrosion inhibitor between the mating surfaces and will reduce oxidation staining.

A suggested lubricant is a white lithium based multi-purpose grease (with an NLGI rating of 2). This type of product may be obtained through most shop supply outlets. CRC General Purpose Lithium is one specific example. [Chick uses Muscle Products Corp. (MPC) PL-10.]
