What material do you use in your clamps and how hard are they?
The clamps are made of high-quality tool steel, and they are through-hardened to 48-52 HRC. Wedges always some with hardness of 48 to 52 HRC.
There are also softer long jaws designed to be machined according to a shape of the workpiece. These jaws come in a hardness of 30 to 34 HRC and can therefore be machined.
